Fuquay - Varina and Willow Spring are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2021, but not for long. The Bengals will head out to take on the Storm at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Fuquay - Varina had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 21-point drubbing they dealt Holly Springs on Wednesday. The Bengals blew past the Golden Hawks 79-58. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Bengals have posted against the Golden Hawks since February 9, 2021.

Meanwhile, Willow Spring had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Felton Grove 79-36. The Storm pushed the score to 73-23 by the end of the third, a deficit the Galaxy cut but never quite recovered from.

Fuquay - Varina better focus on containing Ryder Randolph and Dillon Robinson as the pair were huge in Willow Spring's win. Randolph went 8-for-10 on his way to 19 points and six rebounds, while Robinson shot 78% from the field en route to 15 points and three steals. Those 78% field goal percentage gave Robinson a new career-high. Finley Stephenson was another key player, shooting 88% from the field to rack up 15 points.

Willow Spring smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Fuquay - Varina came up short against Willow Spring in their previous meeting back in January, falling 65-61. Can the Bengals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
