Thunderbird is 9-1 against Greenway since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Titans are taking a road trip to square off against the Demons at 7:00 p.m. Thunderbird is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.8 runs per game this season.
Thunderbird couldn't beat Mesquite on Monday even though they stacked seven runs on them in the fifth inning. The Titans came up short against the Wildcats, falling 18-12. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Titans, who until this contest were averaging 3.48 runs allowed.
Tyson Gorder and Richard Voyce did some serious damage despite the final result: Gorder went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI, while Voyce went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Kolesar, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Greenway had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Thursday. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 7-3.
Greenway also got a great performance from David Perez as he pitched six innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Thaddeus Newman, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Adrian Chance, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Greenway always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .514 or higher in six consecutive matchups.
Greenway's record is now 12-3. As for Thunderbird, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Thunderbird has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Greenway struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Thunderbird got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Greenway by a conclusive 16-0 score. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Demons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
