Basketball Recap: Community Christian Takes a Loss

Community Christian lost against Gramercy Christian back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Community Christian Cyclones took a 42-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gramercy Christian Warriors.

Despite the loss, Community Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Autumn Bradshaw went 6-for-9 to rack up 13 points and six boards. That was a full 43.3% of Community Christian's points, marking the eighth time in a row Bradshaw has posted more than a third of the team's points. Ellie Gay was another key player, putting up six points.

Gramercy Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Addi Cook out in front who earned ten points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinley Butler, who put up eight points and four steals.

Community Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Gramercy Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Community Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-33 loss against Trinity Christian on the 17th. As for Gramercy Christian, they have also already played their next game, a 54-31 defeat against Christ Covenant on the 11th.
