Baseball Recap: San Rafael Wins Going Away Against Sonoma Valley

While San Rafael put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Sonoma Valley. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Dragons with a sharp 12-0 win. Considering the Bulldogs' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Dylan Thorpe was a standout: he scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Dexter Jackson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

San Rafael kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sonoma Valley only managed one hit.

San Rafael now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Sonoma Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.

Coming up, San Rafael will host Marin Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Sonoma Valley, they will head out to challenge Casa Grande at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gauchos' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Dragons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
