Basketball Recap: Delta Beats Otsego for Their Eighth Straight Win

Delta put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Otsego Knights with a sharp 55-35 win. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 20 points or more this season.

Delta found their leader in freshman Anna Lohman, who went 9 for 18 on her way to 20 points and four steals. Lohman has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Abbey Todd, who went 9 of 22 on her way to 15 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Delta smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive contests.

Otsego lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Gracie Zsigray, who posted four points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carley Etchie, who had six points.

Delta's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Otsego, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Delta wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 43-30 win against Evergreen on the 3rd. As for Otsego, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-16 defeat against Maumee on the 3rd.
