Volleyball Recap: West Brunswick Comes Up Short

West Brunswick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Hoggard Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

Hoggard can attribute much of their success to Simone Peay, who had six assists and three aces. Those three aces gave Peay a new career-high. Chloe Stowe also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

West Brunswick's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Hoggard, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. West Brunswick will challenge rival North Brunswick at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Hoggard is set to face off against their familiar foe New Hanover at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
