Baseball Recap: Christian Home Educators Fellowship Triumphs

Christian Home Educators Fellowship won the last time they faced NELA Christian Homeschool and things went their way on Friday too. The Christian Home Educators Fellowship Patriots came out on top in a nail-biter against the NELA Christian Homeschool Flame, sneaking past 4-3.

Matthew Steele made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caleb Whitehead, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Christian Home Educators Fellowship's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Coming up, Christian Home Educators Fellowship will square off against Oak Forest Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. NELA Christian Homeschool will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Acadiana Christian at 5:30 p.m. on March 28th.
