Baseball Recap: Starks Has No Trouble Against South Cameron

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hackberry, Starks was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the South Cameron Tarpons. Considering the Panthers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Kaison Howard was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He also allowed no hits, which is notable because Starks is 2-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 4-11 otherwise. Howard was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Cody Harrison was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Ben Crisp was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

The win snapped Starks' losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-12 record. As for South Cameron, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Coming up, Starks will be playing at home against Abbeville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for South Cameron, they are taking a road trip to face off against Gueydan at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
