Softball Recap: Wimberley's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Wimberley took a 15-run defeat the last time they faced off against Fredericksburg, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Wimberley narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Fredericksburg 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Texans have posted since April 16, 2024.

Grace Strobel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ella P, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Wright, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

The win (which was Wimberley's fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Fredericksburg, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-9.
