Basketball Preview: Lawrence-Nelson Raiders vs. Franklin Flyers
Lawrence-Nelson has gone 10-0 against Franklin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Lawrence-Nelson Raiders will host the Franklin Flyers at 7:30 p.m. Lawrence-Nelson will be strutting in after a victory while Franklin will be coming in after a loss.
Last Thursday, Lawrence-Nelson greeted the New Year with with a 56-39 win over Hampton. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.

Lawrence-Nelson found their leader in sophomore Wyatt Frey, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Frey's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Zikmund, who posted seven points.
Lawrence-Nelson was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Franklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were dealt a 56-27 loss at the hands of Southwest.
Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Lawrence-Nelson, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Lawrence-Nelson was able to grind out a solid victory over Franklin in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 34-27. Does Lawrence-Nelson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Franklin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
