Soccer Game Preview: Trinity Catholic vs. P.K. Yonge

Trinity Catholic is 0-6 against P.K. Yonge since December of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Trinity Catholic Celtics will square off against the P.K. Yonge Blue Wave at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Trinity Catholic is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They never let Trenton onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Celtics.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask P.K. Yonge). Everything went their way against Santa Fe last Thursday as P.K. Yonge made off with a 9-1 win. It was an even better day for Faith Hardy as she scored three goals for her team.

P.K. Yonge's lineup was just a bit different last Thursday as Marin Best got a bit more time on the pitch (36 vs. her season average of 17.3). Best made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

P.K. Yonge has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those 11 games. As for Trinity Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 3-12-2.

Trinity Catholic might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from P.K. Yonge in their previous meeting last Monday. Can Trinity Catholic avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
