Basketball Recap: Park School Comes Up Short

After flying high against Garrison Forest last Friday, Park School came back down to earth. The Park School Bruins took a 56-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bryn Mawr Mawrtians on Monday. The Bruins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mawrtians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.

When it comes to explaining why Park School lost, don't look at Sophie Zirkin. Despite the final result, she posted 20 points. Zirkin's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Emma Zirkin was another key player, putting up nine points.

Park School has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Bryn Mawr, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Park School will square off against Maryvale Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bryn Mawr, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Severn School at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
