Baseball Recap: Benjamin Has No Trouble Against Dr. Joaquin Garcia

Benjamin saw some tournament action on Friday. They put the hurt on the Dr. Joaquin Garcia Bulldogs with a sharp 10-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Buccaneers.

Brandon Owens was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Derek Rubin, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Benjamin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dr. Joaquin Garcia only posted an OBP of .200.

Benjamin's record is now 2-0. As for Dr. Joaquin Garcia, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Benjamin will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Jupiter Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Jupiter Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season. As for Dr. Joaquin Garcia, they will be playing at home against Seminole Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Seminole Ridge's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Dr. Joaquin Garcia's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
