Purnell Swett has gone a perfect 6-0 against Douglas Byrd recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Purnell Swett Rams will head out on the road to challenge the Douglas Byrd Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Purnell Swett is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.

Last Friday, Purnell Swett didn't have quite enough to beat Cape Fear and fell 5-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Colts: they've now lost five in a row.

Lanna Haggans and Nylah Johnson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Haggans went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Johnson went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaniya Lewis, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Douglas Byrd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against South View, falling 16-0.

Douglas Byrd's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Purnell Swett, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Purnell Swett took their win against Douglas Byrd when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 17-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Purnell Swett since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
