Wayne is 9-1 against Springfield since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Wayne Warriors will host the Springfield Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Wayne took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They breezed by Thurgood Marshall to the tune of 56-18. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Cougars are ranked 769th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Springfield entered their tilt with Miamisburg on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 46-38.

Springfield has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Wayne, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

Wayne strolled past Springfield in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 50-34. Does Wayne have another victory up their sleeve, or will Springfield turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
