Softball Recap: Eagle Rock Gets the Win

Eagle Rock proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by six) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Bishop Alemany Warriors 3-1. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Marcella Terrazas made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that she hit this season.

Terrazas wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Melissa Terrazas, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Eagle Rock hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in six consecutive contests.

The win got Eagle Rock back to even at 5-5. As for Bishop Alemany, they dropped their record down to 9-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Eagle Rock didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-0 victory against Marshall on the 9th. As for Bishop Alemany, they have also already played their next game, a 17-8 defeat against Harvard-Westlake on the 5th.
