Basketball Recap: Buena Vista Falls Despite Big Games from Joe Bearss and Landon Pace

Buena Vista was the 54-40 winner over Alamosa when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Demons took a 53-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mean Moose on Saturday.

Landon Pace and Joe Bearss certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Pace went 7-for-10 on his way to 17 points, while Bearss almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Taj O'Reilly, who posted seven points.

Buena Vista's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Alamosa, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Buena Vista wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 44-27 victory against Gunnison on the 9th. As for Alamosa, they will face off against Elizabeth at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
