Softball Game Preview: Lee-Scott Academy Warriors vs. Reeltown Rebels

The Lee-Scott Academy Warriors will square off against the Reeltown Rebels at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lee-Scott Academy has three straight wins, Reeltown has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Lee-Scott Academy's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over Montgomery Academy. That looming 10-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Warriors yet this season.

Addison Mezick made a splash no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Mezick was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. Mezick is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, Brianna Totty and Emmie Hartzog did most of the damage at the plate: Totty went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Hartzog went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. What's more, Totty posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Britt Harris was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Lee-Scott Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Reeltown came up short against Beauregard on Friday, falling 10-1.

Lee-Scott Academy now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Reeltown, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
