Preview: Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders vs. Muhlenberg County
The Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders will take on Muhlenberg County in a holiday battle at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday at. One thing working in Gatlinburg-Pittman's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Gatlinburg-Pittman ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They managed a 76-71 win over Greeneville. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Ty Glasper, who shot 5-for-9 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 42 points and ten assists. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Gatlinburg-Pittman's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Orr, who scored 20 points along with three steals and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Muhlenberg County pushed their score all the way to 63 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 71-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ohio County. Muhlenberg County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Gatlinburg-Pittman is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for Muhlenberg County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
