Baseball Recap: Cornerstone Charter Takes a Loss

Cornerstone Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 5-2 to the Chatham Charter Knights. The Cardinals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 8-3.

Cornerstone Charter saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Barbee, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Parker Daniels also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Cornerstone Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Chatham Charter, they pushed their record up to 6-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Cornerstone Charter will venture away from home to square off against Greensboro Day School at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Greensboro Day School's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Cornerstone Charter's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Chatham Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Stokes at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
