Baseball Game Preview: Philomath Warriors vs. Sweet Home Huskies

For the second straight game, Philomath will face off against Sweet Home. The Warriors will challenge the Huskies at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Philomath's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Sweet Home's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Wednesday, Philomath got the win against Sweet Home by a conclusive 19-4. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

For Sweet Home's part, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cohen Gutierrez, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Tregon Francis also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Philomath's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Sweet Home, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.
