Baseball Game Preview: Riverbend Bears vs. Brooke Point Black Hawks

The Riverbend Bears will face off against the Brooke Point Black Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Riverbend has 14 straight victories, Brooke Point has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Riverbend proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by six) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Stafford 4-3.

Brooke Point might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 13-1 to Colonial Forge, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Riverbend's victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Brooke Point, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.

Riverbend took their victory against Brooke Point in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 16-1 score. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Black Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
