Baseball Recap: Youngker Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Youngker had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Paradise Valley Trojans by a score of 6-2 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Roughriders also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Derrick Linley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Daniel Rojas, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

Youngker's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-5. As for Paradise Valley, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Youngker beat the Trojans by a score of 5-3 on Thursday.
