Football Game Preview: Hawthorne Hornets vs. North Marion Colts

The Hawthorne Hornets will square off against the North Marion Colts at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hawthorne will be strutting in after a victory while North Marion will be coming in after a defeat.

Hawthorne took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 26-25 photo finish over Gainesville. The Hornets' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, North Marion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a hard 31-16 fall against West Port. While losing is never fun, the Colts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 358th, while the Wolf Pack are ranked 153rd).

Hawthorne's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for North Marion, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
