Recap: Curlew Cougars vs. Northport Mustangs
The Curlew Cougars suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They were dealt a 99-51 loss at the hands of Northport. Curlew was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 69-26.
When it comes to explaining why Curlew lost, one person who can't be blamed is Logan Thompson. Despite the final result, he scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That was a full 47.1% of Curlew's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Harleigh Ciais Anderson, who scored six points.
Curlew has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Northport, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-6.
Curlew will head out on the road to square off against Inchelium at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Northport, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Republic at 6:00 p.m. Republic is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
