Softball Recap: Littlefield Has No Trouble Against Idalou

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Shallowater, Littlefield was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against Idalou as they made off with a 19-4 win. The result was nothing new for Littlefield, who have now won 12 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Natalia Sanchez, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Aleman, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Littlefield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February.

Littlefield's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Idalou, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Looking ahead, Littlefield will square off against Muleshoe at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mules will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Idalou, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Slaton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
