Basketball Recap: Brooklyn College Academy vs. North Hagerstown Hubs
If Brooklyn College Academy was riding high fresh off their 83-33 takedown of Brooklyn Prospect last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Brooklyn College Academy fell 61-50 to the North Hagerstown Hubs on Saturday. The loss was Brooklyn College Academy's first of the season.
Landon Somerville was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 12 on his way to 22 points in addition to seven boards and three steals for North Hagerstown. That's the most points Somerville has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Cespedes, who posted eight points and five assists.
Having lost for the first time this season, Brooklyn College Academy fell to 5-1. As for North Hagerstown, their record is now 6-1.
Brooklyn College Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on A-Tech at 5:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. As for North Hagerstown, they will face off against Oakdale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Hagerstown is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68.7 points per game this season.
