Preview: Acalanes Dons vs. Berean Christian Eagles

Acalanes is on a five-game streak of home losses, Berean Christian a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Acalanes Dons will take on the Berean Christian Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

While it was all tied up 28-28 at halftime, Acalanes was not quite Campolindo's equal in the second half on Friday. Acalanes was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 52-51 to Campolindo. While losing is never fun, Acalanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 480th, while Campolindo is ranked 69th).

Liam Krackeler put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Preston Hilsabeck was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

Meanwhile, Berean Christian ended up a good deal behind Alhambra on Friday and lost 63-47.

Acalanes has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 15 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Berean Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

Everything came up roses for Acalanes against Berean Christian in their previous matchup back in November of 2019 as the squad secured a 73-33 win. With Acalanes ahead 46-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.
