The Los Molinos Bulldogs will head out to challenge the Durham Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Los Molinos sitting on eight straight wins and Durham on five.
Last Friday, Los Molinos made easy work of Chester and carried off a 16-1 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by seven runs or more this season.

Izick Nelson and Brayden Weibling were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Nelson struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Weibling tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. At the plate, Nelson scored three runs while going 2-for-2, while Weibling scored three runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Los Molinos got a big performance out of Parker Heitman, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Kyson Button, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Los Molinos hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in nine consecutive contests.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Durham and Hamilton, and Durham kept the tradition alive. The Trojans narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Braves 9-7. That's two games straight that the Trojans have won by exactly two runs.
Like Los Molinos, Durham also got a great game from a two-way player: Jack Drake. He tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Drake was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.
In other batting news, Ely Martinez was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Jack Stephens was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Los Molinos' victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Durham, their record is now 9-4.
Durham's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Los Molinos hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .427. It's a different story for Durham, though, as they've only averaged .254. Will they be able to contain Los Molinos' hitters?
Los Molinos suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Durham when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
