Volleyball Recap: Hammond Central Comes Up Short

Hammond Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Andrean Fighting 59ers, falling 3-0. If the Wolves were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Fighting 59ers when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hammond Central couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Andrean a tough time in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 30-14, 25-24.

Andrean found their leader in sophomore Max Szymanski, who had 14 digs and two aces.

Hammond Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Andrean, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2.

Coming up, Hammond Central will square off against Hobart at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Andrean, they will venture away from home to face off against Kouts at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
