Baseball Recap: Maury Gets the Win

Maury proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by eight) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Grassfield Grizzlies 3-1. This was payback for the Commodores, who suffered a 5-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Henry Mulvey looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Lee Garris was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Maury's record now sits at 2-0. As for Grassfield, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Maury will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Godwin at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Grassfield, they will take on Oscar Smith at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
