Basketball Recap: Amite's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Amite lost against Independence back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Warriors received a blow as they fell 87-71 to the Tigers. The loss put an end to the Warriors' undefeated start to the season.

Jayden Anderson had an outrageously good game for Independence as he dropped a double-double with 32 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was Anderson's third in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Haymann Milton, who posted 21 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Amite fell to 2-1. As for Independence, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Amite won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against East Iberville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Independence, they are taking a road trip to take on Kentwood at 7:30 p.m. on December 2.
