Baseball Recap: Cherokee Comes Up Short

If Cherokee was feeling good fresh off their 11-5 takedown of Andrews last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Cherokee fell just short of Andrews by a score of 11-10 on Friday. The Braves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 11-5.

Levi Tramper made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Shiloh Woodson, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

Cherokee dropped their record down to 2-4 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Andrews, their record now sits at 2-5.

Coming up, Cherokee will head out to challenge Hiwassee Dam at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cherokee is facing Hiwassee Dam at the right time seeing as Hiwassee Dam is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Andrews, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Swain County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Andrews' pitchers better be ready for this one: Swain County has averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
