Pickens had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the Wren Hurricanes with a sharp  9-2 win on Tuesday. The  victory was familiar territory for the Blue Flame, who have now won 11  matchups in a row.
 Sophie Duzan made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  struck out six batters over  seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off   seven  hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with two  RBI and one  double.
 In other batting news, Pickens let  Kaylee Bolding and  Ava Belle Lawton run wild. Bolding  went 1-for-4 with three  stolen bases and three  runs, while  Lawton  went 1-for-4 with one  home run and two  RBI.  Karsyn Rhinehart was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
Pickens' win was  their ninth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 18-1. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Wren, their loss dropped their record down to 15-9.
As of now, neither Pickens nor the Hurricanes have any future games scheduled.
