Recap: Lehi Pioneers vs. Lone Peak Knights
On Tuesday, the Lehi Pioneers faced the Lone Peak Knights in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Lehi was beaten by Lone Peak 64-29. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lehi has scored all season.
Several Pioneers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kinly Faux, who scored eight points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Hadlie Warren, who scored nine points.
Lone Peak's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shawnee Nordstrom, who scored 15 points along with four steals. Nordstrom has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Naia Tanuvasa, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Lehi's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Lone Peak, they pushed their record up to 9-6 with that victory, which was their tenth straight on the road.
Lehi will be playing at home against Pleasant Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pleasant Grove is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Lone Peak, they will head out on the road to challenge Westlake at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Westlake is ranked eighth, while Lone Peak is ranked third).
