Soccer Game Preview: Maryville vs. Gatlinburg-Pittman

Maryville is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Gatlinburg-Pittman is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Red Rebels will host the Highlanders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Maryville's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Heritage with a sharp 5-0 victory. Given Maryville's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 45th, while Heritage are ranked 177th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Gatlinburg-Pittman was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against May River by a score of 3-1.

Maryville has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those nine games. As for Gatlinburg-Pittman, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4-1.
