It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but West Liberty-Salem ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Indian Lake Lakers 7-6. With that win, the Tigers brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

West Liberty-Salem's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Reames, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Caleb Hershberger was another, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

West Liberty-Salem has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Indian Lake, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Liberty-Salem will head out to challenge Cedarville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Indians will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Indian Lake, they will face off against Anna at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Rockets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Lakers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
