Basketball Game Preview: Massanutten Military Academy Colonels vs. Randolph-Macon Academy Yellow Jackets

Massanutten Military Academy hasn't had much luck against Randolph-Macon Academy recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Massanutten Military Academy Colonels will venture away from home to square off against the Randolph-Macon Academy Yellow Jackets at 5:15 p.m.

Massanutten Military Academy is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Thursday. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 58-52 heartbreaker at the hands of Redeemer Classical.

Meanwhile, Randolph-Macon Academy entered their tilt with King Abdullah Academy on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They enjoyed a cozy 67-51 victory over the Falcons. Given the Yellow Jackets' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Falcons are ranked 329th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Randolph-Macon Academy's win bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Massanutten Military Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Massanutten Military Academy was dealt a bruising 77-27 defeat at the hands of Randolph-Macon Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Massanutten Military Academy was down 44-18.
