Football Recap: Norwalk Skates Past Compton Early College with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Norwalk). They claimed a resounding 70-0 win over the Compton Early College Rising Phoenix. With that victory, the Lancers brought their scoring average up to 28.6 points per game.

Diego Cerritos had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 213 yards and five TDs on only nine carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Norwalk's run defense was locked in: Compton Early College could only muster 3.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Onosai Faamatau for the heroic effort on defense: he. Norwalk didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 18.1.

Norwalk didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Andres Escobar and Ayden Alcala. Norwalk got some further help from Faamatau: he picked up a sack and made 11 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Norwalk pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Compton Early College, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
