Basketball Recap: Garden City's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Garden City came into Friday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 44-31 win over the Annapolis Cougars on Friday. Garden City has seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Annapolis, too.

Garden City's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8. As for Annapolis, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Garden City Cougars face off against the Melvindale Cardinals at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Garden City is facing Melvindale at the right time seeing as Melvindale is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Annapolis, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Romulus at 6:00 p.m. Romulus knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Annapolis likes a good challenge.
