Pomeroy's loss ends seven-game winning streak at home

Recap: Pomeroy Pirates vs. DeSales Irish

After flying high against the Colton Wildcats last Saturday, the Pomeroy Pirates came back down to earth. Pomeroy was beaten by DeSales 56-28 on Tuesday. It was the first time this season that Pomeroy let down their fans at home.

Pomeroy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trace Roberts, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds. Oliver Severs was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds.

Pomeroy's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-3. As for DeSales, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pomeroy will take on Garfield-Palouse at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for DeSales, they will be playing at home against Yakama Nation Tribal at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Yakama Nation Tribal will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 320th, while DeSales is ranked 127th).
