Jude Hernandez Earns League's Top Spot

Starting off the list is Calallen's Jude Hernandez, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Hernandez rushed for 38 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 32 receiving yards.

Hernandez must have Tuloso-Midway's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Hernandez saw the Warriors & Cherokees), he rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.

Rene Rivera Jr Delivers Best Effort of Season

On Friday, Zapata got the W thanks in part to Rene Rivera Jr playing the best football he has all season. Rivera Jr wasn't messing around, making eight total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging three interceptions. The matchup was his fourth straight with eight or more total tackles dating back to last season.

Zapata's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Rivera Jr and Zapata are taking a road trip to challenge Calallen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Robert Gallegos' Rushing Yards a New Career-High

On Friday, Hidalgo had to settle for second even though Robert Gallegos put up the best numbers he has all season. Gallegos rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

Hidalgo's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7. Gallegos and Hidalgo will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Calallen at 7:00 p.m. on November 1st.

Dennis Posts Huge Game in 35-14 Win

Sebastian Dennis put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in August on Friday. He rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 77 yards and a touchdown on perfect 5-for-5 passing.

On the season, Dennis has thrown 6 touchdowns while averaging 71.4 passing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 29.86 passing yards per game.

Ricardo Rodr?guez Makes It Three for Calallen

Another Calallen player making an appearance on this list is Ricardo Rodr?guez. He rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 56 yards.

For the year, Rodr?guez has run in 7 touchdowns while averaging 93 rushing yards per game.
