Football Recap: Dudley Takes Down Glenn in a Playoff Battle + How To Watch

With a playoff win on the line, Dudley rose to the challenge on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 35-14 margin over the Glenn Bobcats. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Bobcats are ranked 258th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dudley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brayden Jeffries led the charge by throwing for 117 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also rushing for 88 yards and one TD. That's the most passing touchdowns Jeffries has posted since back in September. Dudley also got a significant boost from Michael Boone Jr., who ran away from the competition to the tune of 82 yards.

Dudley's run defense was locked in: Glenn could only muster 2.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Robert McCollum for the heroic effort on defense: he. Dudley didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.2.

Dudley's defense didn't let Brady Robinson, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for six sacks. It was truly a group effort as Devin Cotton, McCollum, and Zayden Carter picked up two apiece. Cotton is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season. Saimir Horton got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Dudley's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.5 points on average over those games. As for Glenn, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
