Softball Recap: Beecher Makes It 18 in a Row on the Road

Beecher put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Grant Park Dragons with a sharp 19-1 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bobcats also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Beecher got a massive performance out of Makenzie Johnson, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. That's the most runs Johnson has posted since back in May of 2024. Allie Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.

Makenzie wasn't the only one making solid contact: Beecher kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 16 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Beecher pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Grant Park, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Beecher beat the Dragons by a score of 10-0 later that day.
