Basketball Recap: Colby Takes a Loss

Colby lost against Gilman back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Colby Hornets came up short against the Gilman Pirates, falling 53-29. The match marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gilman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kayleigh James, who posted 20 points and five steals. The contest was James' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reece Weir, who put up five points along with eight boards and six steals.

Colby now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Gilman, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Colby didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-35 loss against Spencer on the 12th. As for Gilman, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 52-34 defeat against Greenwood on the 12th.
