It was fun while it lasted, but Florence's undefeated season came to an end after 18 games on Friday. They fell to the Coolidge Bears 48-44. The loss put an end to the Gophers' undefeated start to the season.

Several Gophers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Logan Stenson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Adrian Taufaasau was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 11 boards.

Preston Dees continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Coolidge, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Adarius Miguel, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Florence fell to 18-1. As for Coolidge, their win bumped their record up to 17-5.

Florence didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 90-65 loss against Valley Christian on the 23rd. As for Coolidge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 53-45 victory against The Gregory School on the 20th.
