It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Smith Valley had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 71-55 victory over the Pyramid Lake Lakers. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Lakers: they've now won six in a row.

Smith Valley pushed their record up to 23-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points over those games. As for Pyramid Lake, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-11.

Looking ahead, Smith Valley and Virginia City will face off at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. Virginia City knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Smith Valley likes a good challenge. Pyramid Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
