Basketball Recap: Brighton Turns Things Around After Road Loss

Brighton's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Westminster on Monday. The Brighton Bulldogs came out on top against the Lakewood Tigers by a score of 74-64.

Austin Sickler continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 12-for-20 on his way to 32 points and five boards. The contest was his third in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Spotts, who went 7-for-14 en route to 17 points and six rebounds.

Brighton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matchups.

Despite the loss, Lakewood still got an impressive performance from Quentin Wilson, who almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Wilson a new career-high in points. Marcus Bane was another key player, putting up 22 points.

Brighton's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Lakewood, they dropped their record down to 0-21 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road.

Brighton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 93-71 win against Northglenn on the 18th. As for Lakewood, they have also already played their next contest, a 90-47 defeat against Columbine on the 19th.
