Soccer Recap: Sweeny Victorious

Sweeny hadn't done well against Needville recently (they were 0-8-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Sweeny Bulldogs skirted past the Needville Bluejays 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Kailee Ponce was the driving force of Sweeny's attack as she scored both of Sweeny's goals, bringing her season total up to five goals.

Sweeny is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Needville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Sweeny wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Brazosport on the 1st. Needville has also already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against La Marque on the 1st.
