Basketball Recap: Estrella Foothills Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Ryan Hitchcock and Brayden Chojnowski

If Estrella Foothills was feeling good fresh off their 53-32 takedown of Greenway last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Estrella Foothills Wolves took a 53-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Buckeye Hawks on Friday. The Wolves have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Brayden Chojnowski and Ryan Hitchcock certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Chojnowski posted 14 points and five rebounds, while Hitchcock earned 13 points.

Estrella Foothills' defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Buckeye, they moved to 1-5 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Estrella Foothills will take on Shadow Mountain in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Buckeye, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Horizon at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
